Este volumen recoge una selección de artículos, representativos de la amplia labor investigadora desarrollada por el profesor Irigoien principalmente en torno a la lengua vasca. La gramática histórica y la onomástica fueron objeto preferido de su atención. En lingüística, temas como los elementos deícticos, la declinación y el verbo, y en onomástica, tanto la antroponimia como la toponimia del País Vasco y su entorno, son tratados en profundidad por el investigador.
