Los autores ponen foco sobre dos hechos que cambiaron la vida económica de la Vega de Granada en 1874, en que llegó a Granada el ferrocarril Bobadilla-Granada, construico por la Compañía de Ferrocarril de Córdoba a Málaga, luego Compañía de Ferrocarriles Andaluces, y en 1882, en que comenzó a producir azúcar el Ingenio de San Juan, primera fábrica de azúcar de remolacha de España. Un ferrocarril de este a oeste de la Vega que enlazaba con toda la red de ferrocarriles y una gran industria con grandes efectos multiplicadores que necesitaba de este ferrocarrill para movilizar...
