This study examines the cardinal points of Goytisolo's work, the tetralogy Antagonia, and explores his experimentation with multiple techniques. Following a postmodernist/poststructuralist approach, it focuses upon the metaphorical meaning of the labyrinthine structure. The book analyzes the therapeutic qualities that the narrators/protagonists find in their experiences as writers, and also the roles played by various readers, be these real or fictitious. It also examines Goytisolo's deft articulation of straightforward exposition with parody and his criticism of Catalan society.

Libro La noche del pequeño búho

It's evening in the forest and Little Owl wakes up from his day-long sleep to watch his friends enjoying the night. Could the daytime be nearly as wonderful?

De Garcilaso a Lorca

Libro De Garcilaso a Lorca

In this book we're invited to choose words randomly, to count syllables, to let the stress in the words make its music, to give in to the meaning of words, to become readers of poetry, to spread the verses in Spanish that are ours and everybody's. Many wrongly believe that verses are written in a state of agitation, enthusiasm, or near-dementia, but, to the benefit of those trying to write their first poem, Hiriart proves that this is hardly ever the case. Great examples of poetry from classic and contemporary authors, and anecdotes and dialogues of great wit and precision, make this volume a ...
