El presente trabajo tiene dos partes. En la primera parte, dedicada a las Conferencias generales del Episcopado Latinoamericano, se hace un estudio del texto para proponer formulaciones concretas de la mision de la Iglesia en cada una de las Conferencias. En la segunda parte se estudian los cuatro teologos buscando en ellos su postura en relacion con la mision de la Iglesia. Se comienza tratando a Juan Luis Segundo que representa el comienzo de la reflexion teologica latinoamericana.
