Esta es una pieza de literatura infantil inédita del poeta Ismael Urdaneta que revela su poder de asombro ante la ternura. Un clásico perdido del Zulia. ---- Ismael Emilio Urdaneta Paz nació en Moporo (estado Trujillo) el 4 de marzo de 1887 y murió en Maracaibo el 29 de septiembre de 1928. Legionario, periodista, escritor (poeta, cronista, narrador y memorialista). Hijo de don Arístides Urdaneta Leal y de doña María Altagracia Paz de Urdaneta. Nacido en el estado Trujillo, aún en pañales se le trasladó a Los Puertos de Altagracia, donde fue bautizado y vivió su niñez, hasta 1895, cuando la familia se residenció en la ciudad de Maracaibo; él mismo siempre consideró ese nacimiento como accidental y sintió como su auténtico lar nativo al Zulia, lo cual hizo constar en toda su documentación. Usó los seudónimos de Navaja y de Tristán Gulliver.
