Alebrijes came out of the most horrendous nightmares of the human being, and on a dark night they jumped into the workshop of the artisans and from there they soon went out into the streets and dispersed in the cities, in the towns and even in the hills and jungles, Where they hide and lurk with their claws and fangs ready to jump over their prey. No one should feel safe from them, for it is possible to find them suddenly in the most unexpected places, even in the pages of the books where they have made their nest. Proof of this are the fantastic stories that are told here about those horrifyingly beautiful and colorful monsters.
