This colloquium addressed matters of such importance as the heritage of Mexico's railways, mines and other industrial architecture, which constitute important testimonies of historical moments and unique cultural evidence. This volume details concrete cases of salvage and conservation, as well as offering proposals for inclusion in the unescos world heritage list.

In September of 2005 a group academics, civil organizations and federal, state and municipal government representatives were summoned with the purpose of analyzing the legislature, experiences and strategies developed for the protection and conservation of the cultural patrimony of Mexico.
